The Barque Picton Castle has sailed from Lunenburg!
Please watch this excellent aerial video by Troy Brake of our ship sailing from the wharf and a large crowd in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.
After months and months, we are outward bound again, headed south for an island passage into the Caribbean Sea and on to Panama and then that great continental bypass that slices through the isthmus. We are looking forward to seeing the Southern Cross again, and more besides.
We enjoyed a very heart warming send off from hundreds of friends of the ship. Sending us on our way was none other than Nova Scotia Minister of Economic Development and MLA Susan Corkum Greek (and former Dory Shop and Picton Castle land officer and founder of the new working waterfront) who sent this crew off with a rich perspective of what this ship means to those who are not aboard. An address to remember!
Onward, Southward, Westward – many blue water miles to sail, islands and lands to see and draw from before we return to these sea bound coasts.
Thank you all, Daniel Moreland – Captain of Picton Castle
