More Winter, It’s March!Lunenburg / By Captain Daniel Moreland / 15 March 2023 While getting rained and blown away by gales this is an accurate look at our Lunenburg recently. Super-Chef Donald at the door of his shore galley, keeping the crew well fed and happy. A thick banket of snow covering new dories at the Dory Shop on a bright sparkling day. Some of the crew are learning wooden boat building within. Building dories since 1917. https://doryshop.com/ Our PICTON CASTLE wharf of a late afternoon. We are told that this was the working wharf of the famous original Schooner BLUENOSE, before she headed to the Caribbean to be an island freighter in the 1940s. Looking south from our driveway, lobster traps stacked and a picnic bench snowed under. Lobster boats on the left tied up at the railway wharf. This is the old dairy farm across the harbour. Now a golf course. And a good place to go sledding… The old dairy farm/golf course again. What a beautiful backdrop for this old sailing ship port. And here is one guy who appreciates the sledding qualities of the golf course… Yet, it isn’t snow sledding we are looking forward to, is it?
