Day’s Run – 16 December, 2018

Sunday at Sea! Quiet morning on deck with no power tools running. The on duty watch are able to break open their personal projects and tinker away, it’s important to have a personal project on the go. Something a sailor can pick up when there’s down time, it’s always satisfying to complete one personal project and move onto another. Some seen around deck are knitting, new knife sheaths, ditty bags, turks heads, woodworking such as seam rubbers, pullers and fids. While some crew members lounge and read on the hatch, Kimba, Dustin, James and Andy spent the morning working on a new and very colourful jib for Sea Never Dry, our dory. Six-year-old ship’s boy Dawson built a Lego castle that his dinosaurs attacked. This afternoon the event planner, Annie of Ontario, has a special ‘Sunday Sundaes’ event planned, involving DIY sundaes, a lot of ice cream and toppings to boot! This week ahead will be busy with ship’s work and prepping for the holidays, today is the start to the Christmas kick off on board the Picton Castle!
