Day’s Run – 17 May, 2016

The Crew kept busy through the night with sail drills now that we are able to carry more sail.  In the morning it was time to make a little more ground to the north, we wore ship at the 0800 watch change and set Royals.  The clouds blew off and the sun warmed the deck and many of the off watch hands came up to enjoy the sunshine and lend a hand with the work on deck and aloft.  In the afternoon we held a fire drill to keep proficient with handling our safety gear.

SHIP’S WORK: Replace the starboard fore brace and overhaul the brace pennant, finish overhaul of the fish tackle, fabricate new mounts for the forward head sink, re-lash starboard Main Lower Topsail head earring lashing, re-lash Mizzen Topmast Staysail knock lashing, grease Spanker clew outhaul pennant, continue roping on the Main T’gallant Staysail and seaming on the new Main Topmast Staysail.
