Day’s Run – July 30, 2015

Work one day and small boat sail one day – that is what today and tomorrow are set aside for. After rigging both Monomoy and Sea Never Dry this morning Port watch sailed off for a day of learning how to handle a small sail boat while Starboard watch got to work on a list of projects as long as the Bosun’s arm. By all reports the sailing was thoroughly enjoyed by all…though I’m sure it wasn’t as much fun as we will have tomorrow! Many of the ships work projects were actually kind of fun. It’s not just anywhere that you get to dangle above the water while touching up the PICTON CASTLE name now is it?!

SHIP’S WORK: Spot painted topsides; third coat primer on mizzen shroud bottlescrews; painted lifering; re-caulked quarterdeck plank; work on gaff topsail; Monomoy and Sea Never Dry sailing.
