Day’s Run – June 12, 2024

Date: June 12, 2024
Coordinates: 15°17.3’N, 061°22.7’W – Anchored at Roseau, Dominica
Weather: 85°F light E wind
Remarks: Ollie and Sophia went ashore with Donald this morning to go provisioning for fresh fruits. Now the fruit lockers have yummy Dominica pineapples, passion fruit, melons and bananas. Clara, Ansleigh, Sara and Zoe spent the day end-for-ending braces. Only one more t’gallant brace left to go. George and Amelia rustbusted the midships topgallant rail and now both sides have primer on them. It’s looking good! Leo did some varnish work and painted the waterways red. Spring continued roping the new course, it’s over halfway done now. Nate put a top coat on all of the quarterdeck rails we have rustbusted. Julien worked on rustbusting the new bitt that was installed on the aloha deck. Bosun Line was too busy running around the ship coordinating projects for anyone to keep track of her. She seems able to be in about three places at once. And of course, we had to take breaks from our projects to play with Nutmeg the puppy who joined us in Bequia. Dawson at age 11 has a puppy now, a proper thing. Amelia cooked up a nice chicken dinner and we ate as we watched the big orange sun set over the Caribbean sea.
