Remarks: Donald has given everyone the fishing bug. We hooked a HUGE sail fish yesterday – and at dusk, a yellowfin as big as Sara but they both got away. Hopefully we get another bite today. It is beautiful out and we are sailing aong swiftly in the right direction. 8 to 12 foot seas. Dark, white capped seas, mostly clear skies. Sailmaking, spar work going on on the quarterdeck. Clara splicing up and serving a new wire vang for the spanker gaff of 3/8″ wire. Bosun overhauling spanker gaff gear. New hatch cover getting painted. Old one to be cut up into paint tarps. Yesterday’s workshop in exotic knots.
