Remarks: At 0740 we fired up the main engine and braced up on a starboard tack bound for Reunion. Kate works on stitching chafe gear aloft, as does Violet. Jeremie tars the main shrouds, George overhauls blocks. Spring, Sara, Benny, Toad and Christiane work noon sights. Flying jib and new topsail keep getting worked on. The teak starboard quarterdeck ladder gets a final sanding and varnish. One more workshop in ditty bags, making the “becket” aka the handle. Harder than it looks! A pretty day, small seas, blue skies.
