Remarks: Lighter winds prevail and the sky is a bit more overcast today. Big clumps of sargasso drift by preventing us from putting the fishing lines out in fear of having to haul in hundreds of pounds of seaweed (it’s happened before). Sara started a class on deck general, one of the test subjects for getting a maritime license. She is planning on doing one class every day until we reach Bermuda covering topics such as ship handling, cargo operations, stability and line handling. Julien and Line work on fabricating a new becket for a block on the well deck. Dee works on the old fores’l getting some tears herringboned. Liam, Benita and Dawson are playing an intense game of Catan on the hatch. Right now it looks like Dawson has the longest road, blocking Benita off from her sheep resources. Soon the ditty bag class will meet for the newbies, initiating another group of eager hands to the art of sailmaking.
