We have been having quite the ride the last couple days aboard the Picton Castle in the South Pacific.
The day came in partly cloudy with large seas and strong winds on the port quarter. We are under a modest sail plan and sailing along just fine. Stars overhead faded out as the sky brightened with the coming sun. Spray flies over the windward rail from time to time.
Donald is off on Sundays. His pal Zoe from Bermuda is taking over today. She is an excellent cook.
The day carried on much as it was this morning. Sea may have steadied out and the ship is rolling less, a more comfortable ride – but still plenty wind and seas. It is all quite a glorious sight and place to be under snug sail in a goodly ship.
Also it is Leo’s birthday today!
