Here as dawn approaches, the Picton Castle is sailing along in fresh southeast winds on the quarter. Blowing force 6, 7 in the gusts. Sail is reduced to upper topsails , inner jib & fore topmast staysail, foresail, and main topmast staysail. The ship is balanced well so steering is not hard. Seas running around 12-15 feet and more sometimes. We are having quite a ride. A bit bouncy, so manropes are rigged fore and aft to hold onto while walking the decks. Ship checks are done in pairs. What with a squall or two, not much painting today. But life aboard goes on. Donald is getting breakfast going. The kittens are playing somewhere. The generator just got fired up to charge our 110 system. Winds should lay down tonight.
