We are all very happy and excited to be hosting a BOSUN SCHOOL session this summer in salty old Lunenburg! Boats, seamanship, sailing, heaps of rigging, fixing boats and ships, varnishing and painting and all the rest is what will occupy our summer days here on the South Western shore soon. There is nothing better for the nautically saltwater minded soul than messing about in boats and ships and learning all one can to be a better equipped sailor or seafarer.
Because of Covid we have pushed back the dates. The Government of Nova Scotia announced on Friday of last week their re-opening plan from restrictions in place for COVID-19. Due to this announcement, and to allow for students to arrive in Nova Scotia in Phase 3 of that plan, the new dates for Bosun School will be July 14th to September 29th 2021. We can allow for some flexibility in these dates, and if students may need to arrive sooner or later than July 14th, or if you may need to leave Bosun School earlier than the end date of September 29th, we will accommodate these requests. It is still summer here in Lunenburg all September. Best part of summer.
Due to outstanding support from some visionary benefactors, this year we are able be offer full scholarships to every student accepted in to Bosun School Summer 2021. This includes room and board, instruction, and materials during Bosun School. There remains a mandatory 14-day quarantine period for all students coming from outside Nova Scotia. Any expenses and arrangements for the required two-week quarantine are the responsibility of each student arriving in Nova Scotia before Bosun School begins.
