Day’s Run – July 31, 2015

Taking down a sail is always an interesting project. This time the work had a ring of permanence as both the mains’l and mizzen topmast stays’l will not make an appearance again, other than for maintenance, until the ship gets ready to leave on the Trans Atlantic Voyage in early October. On the sailing side of things, what a fantastic day we had! We tacked a whole bunch, ate a picnic lunch, skipped stones, hiked over an island park nearby then sailed our way back home taking the scenic route.

SHIP’S WORK: Primer mizzen shroud shackles; spot painted topsides; sent down mains’l and mizzen topmast stays’l; primer on focs’l shower porthole; remove lobster pots/lines from forward and propeller; Monomoy and Sea Never Dry sailing.
